Do work first
Every day, I’m impressed with my 70-year-old coworker who just sits down and works until she is done. No brakes or anything. She just works until there isn’t any work left. Once she’s done with work, she’ll go do whatever she wants to do. We all need to be more like her.
When you think about work your brain thinks you’ve worked
I used to be in outbound sales. So calling people was how I earned a paycheck. When I thought about calling people all day, mentally I knew I didn’t call anyone, but emotionally I felt like I already did. I was thinking about it so long that it felt like work.
At least I did that…
When I do something first thing – Workout, clean the dishes, do laundry, etc. I’ve started the day off right. I can end the day being able to say, “At least I did that…” Even if nothing else was accomplished. If we start off doing something, we will have at least accomplished something of importance.
